It's a classic Merlot del Mendrisiotto that makes pleasantness its best feature. Its moderate tannicity and aromatic notes with a fruity character make it a perfect example of Merlot del Mendrisiotto in its traditional expression. Ideal as a wine "throughout the meal" but above all in combination with sliced meats, first courses with tasty sauces, white meats and not very mature alpine cheeses. Also ideal as an aperitif for those who do not like white wines.
Galotta is a variety born in 1981 in Switzerland from a cross between Ancellotta and Gamay. Grown in the vineyards of Tenuta la Prella and vinified entirely in stainless steel, it has an intense ruby red colour and notes of black berry fruit accompanied by an intense spiciness. Just as on the nose, the palate also features strong notes of blackcurrant, pomegranate and juniper. A soft, round wine with character to accompany rich hors d'oeuvres of cold meats, cheeses and traditional dishes, such as a good risotto with luganighetta.
