Wine Advocate awards Agriloro!

Robert Parker's prestigious Wine Advocate magazine recently awarded three of our wines: the Sottobosco Rosso del Ticino, the Merlot Riserva Tenimento La Prella and the Merlot Riserva Tenimento dell Ör.

Sottobosco Rosso del Ticino 2019 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from the hilly Mendrisiotto area. After 20 months of separate aging in French barriques, the wine has an elegant and spicy bouquet of ripe red and dark fruits, cedar wood, tar and concentrated fruit, some of it dry. It is a concentrated, elegant and saline red wine that can be cellared for more than a decade.

La Prella 2019 Merlot Riserva La Prella is a wine sourced from Genestrerio and aged for 18 months in barrels, 30 percent of which are new and the rest one and two years old. The wine's bouquet is elegant and fragrant, with notes of red and dark, toasty fruits. On the palate, the wine is round, ripe and persistent, with lively acidity and delicate, well-integrated tannins. It is a flattering Merlot with stimulating saltiness and good tannic grip on the finish.

The 2019 Merlot Riserva dell'Ör is another Merlot from Arzo and aged for at least 20 months in barrels, 50% of which are new and 50% used. The wine has an intense, ripe bouquet of red fruits and cherry, with toasty notes. The palate is soft, fresh and structured, with elegant tannins and a fresh, still acidic but vinous and savory finish. It is a red wine that takes time to be best appreciated.
