Galotta

Galotta is a variety born in 1981 in Switzerland from a cross between Ancellotta and Gamay. Grown in the vineyards of Tenuta la Prella and vinified entirely in stainless steel, it has an intense ruby red colour and notes of black berry fruit accompanied by an intense spiciness. Just as on the nose, the palate also features strong notes of blackcurrant, pomegranate and juniper. A soft, round wine with character to accompany rich hors d'oeuvres of cold meats, cheeses and traditional dishes, such as a good risotto with luganighetta.
